Savez-vous comment critiquer pour faire changer une situation sans qu’elle dégénère?
C’est tout un art !
Tout d’abord, il est important de connaître l’objectif recherché par votre critique.
Pourquoi critiquez-vous une personne, ses actes ou une situation?
- Parce que vous désirez aider la personne à s’améliorer
- Parce que vous voulez qu’une situation change
- Parce que vous voulez qu’une personne change sa manière d’agir
- Parce que vous désirez faire avancer une conversation par un point de vue différent
Si vous vous rendez compte que vos motivations sont plutôt de blesser la personne, de lui faire des reproches gratuits pour la rabaisser ou de vous défouler parce que vous avez eu une mauvaise journée, alors: arrêtez tout de suite, excusez-vous immédiatement avant de dire des choses que vous regretterez plus tard.
Cela peut arriver à tout le monde de s’énerver et de dire des méchancetés sans les penser, il faut le reconnaitre, demander pardon et faire en sorte que cela ne se reproduise pas trop souvent, c’est tout.
Pourquoi les critiques blessent-elles?
- parce qu’on les prend pour soi, on se sent attaqué
- parce qu’on trouve que ce n’est pas juste
- parce qu’on se sent incompris
- parce qu’on se focalise sur les mauvaises ou la mauvaise chose
- parce qu’on est persuadé d’avoir raison
Comment faire alors pour critiquer sans blesser et obtenir ce que l’on veut?
C’est très simple : ne critiquez pas 🙂
Suggérez plutôt des actes, des choses alternatives, positives et constructives.
Une suggestion de changement
Nous réagissons souvent mal lorsque nous nous sentons critiqués et la première défense est souvent l’attaque. Par contre, si quelqu’un nous explique comment faire pour changer quelque chose, nous aurons plus tendance à l’écouter et à réfléchir à cette idée sans aucune animosité.
Par exemple: si une personne me dit que je m’habille vraiment mal, je risque de mal le prendre et de riposter en lui disant de s’occuper de ses affaires, ou qu’elle ferait mieux de se regarder dans une glace…
Alors que si la même personne me dit que mettre tel ou tel vêtement m’irait sûrement très bien, voire même mieux encore que ce que je met en ce moment, je vais sûrement réfléchir à ce qu’elle m’a dit et peut être suivre son conseil sans être ni blessée ni énervée. Je vais même probablement lui dire merci.
Reformulez votre critique en une phrase positive
Nous réagissons mal aux critiques car elles sont négatives et attirent donc des ondes négatives avec elles.
Par exemple: si le mari dit à sa femme de faire une machine de blanc pendant le week-end car il ne veut pas à nouveau se retrouver sans chemise propre le lundi, cela risque de provoquer une dispute.
Si il dit quelque chose comme: ma chérie, ce serait vraiment super si tu faisais une machine de blanc ce week-end, je crois que j’ai utilisé toutes mes chemises.
Non seulement, il aura ce qu’il veut, mais en plus elle le fera avec plaisir car elle aura l’impression qu’il voit ce qu’elle fait pour lui.
Soyez précis
Lorsque quelque chose ne vous satisfait pas entièrement, n’élargissez pas votre critique à tout ce qu’il y a autour.
Si le dessert ne vous a pas plu au restaurant, ne critiquez pas toute la soirée ou le dîner entier. Vous pouvez dire que vous auriez sûrement plus apprécié un autre dessert. Vous pouvez ajouter que le reste du repas était très bon, cela vous permettra de passer une meilleure fin de soirée en finissant sur une touche positive.
Soyez gentil
Ce n’est pas évident d’entendre des critiques, ça l’est encore moins lorsqu’elles sont exprimées méchamment.
Il est toujours possible de dire les choses sans insultes et sans élever la voix.
Rien ne vous empêche de faire des compliments pour d’autres choses autour de votre critique ou « suggestion », surtout lorsqu’il s’agit d’une personne que vous aimez.
Tenez vous en aux actes
Ne critiquez pas une personne dans son être en lui disant qu’elle est bordélique, fainéante, idiote…
Si vous dites à votre ami ou à votre mari qu’il ne fout rien à la maison et que vous en avez marre de tout faire toute seule, qu’il est fainéant et bordélique, non seulement il ne vous aidera pas, mais en plus c’est la dispute assurée.
Au lieu de cela, vous pouvez lui expliquer que vous désirez qu’il vous aide un peu plus dans les tâches ménagères car vous avez besoin de lui, vous pouvez ensuite même lui dire ce que vous aimeriez beaucoup le voir faire afin de vous délester un peu.

À mon avis, beaucoup de personnes cherchent toujours à mettre la faute sur le dos des autres. Ils se croient supérieurs, surtout, les hommes de nos jours. Et on n’avait pas le droit de s’exprimer ou de riposter face à eux.

Je m’excuse d’avance pour les ondes négatives qui accompagnent ma critique 😉 (<– je mets des smileys pour carresser l'égo de l'interlocuteur haha)
Je soutiens l'initiative de promouvoir la propagation d'ondes positives à 100% !! Cela dit, lorsqu'il s'agit d'une critique bien fondée, je pense que l'effort est à faire du coté de celui qui reçoit la critique.
En effet, une critique constructive ( qui a pour but de faire avancer les choses et non de critiquer gratuitement) n'a rien de négatif bien au contraire ! A mon sens la responsabilisation est à faire du côté de celui qui s'énerve à la moindre critique (qu'elle soit constructive ou pas).
Bien que je conçoive qu'une critique puisse faire mal à l'égo, je condamne le fait de choisir des mots "jolis" pour carresser l'interlocuteur dans le sens du poil. Je suis persuadé que notre éducation passe par la provocation de l'égo, et que le fait de nuancer les critiques ne fait qu'empirer la situation.
En espérant que vous êtes toujours abonné aux commentaires pour obtenir une réponse 😀

je suis d’accord, une critique constructive est beaucoup plus intéressante que des compliments non mérités.
Il est certain que cela peut faire mal sur le coup mais si elle est justifiée et utile, elle peut faire avancer la personne et l’aider à s’améliorer.
Certains « critiqueurs » utilisent des mots qui peuvent tellement blesser que la personne ressent une attaque plutôt qu’une critique et là, elle ne sert plus à rien.
C’est la raison pour laquelle je préfère critiquer avec des mots gentils afin d’atteindre mon objectif: aider la personne que je critique et non lui faire de la peine.
La plupart du temps, ca marche… 😉

j’ai des difficultés à déchiffrer vos commentaires et je ne suis pas certaine de comprendre ce que vous essayez de faire passer.
Ce que j’ai voulu vous dire, c’est que si vous voulez que les autres s’intéressent à vous, vous devez vous aussi vous intéresser aux autres: être à l’écoute, être présent, permettre aux autres de s’exprimer et surtout…montrer que vous avez lu et compris un article avant de le commenter.

Le passage qui m’a surtout interpellé, c’est quand il est question de reformuler notre critique en une phrase positive. J’ai sourit en te lisant. Surement parce que c’est drôle de lire « critique » et « positive » dans une même phrase. J’avoue que c’est une bonne astuce pour éviter les prises de têtes et obtenir ce que l’on veut 😉
Je suis très visuelle… alors j’ai imaginé la scène d’un monsieur mécontent au sujet de ses chemises. Merci pour le sourire que j’affiche suite à cette lecture Caroline.

la vérité est un mot assez vague, tout dépend de la réalité et du point de vue de chacun. Ce qui est vrai pour l’un peut être faux pour l’autre… oups cela devient un peu trop philosophique pour les commentaires.
J’écrirai sûrement bientôt un article sur la vérité et si elle est bonne à dire ou pas 🙂
En ce qui concerne les critiques, emballées en suggestions ou en conseils, elles passent toujours mieux.
