Vous est-il alors arrivé de vous rendre compte très vite que finalement ce n’était pas aussi facile que ça en avait l’air?
Vous est-il alors arrivé de vous dire que vous étiez trop nul, que vous n’y arriveriez jamais et d’abandonner après quelques séances qui vous ont laissé un goût amer dans la bouche?
Tout cela est plutôt frustrant, et pourquoi?
Parce que vous pensiez que vous seriez un expert dès que vous alliez commencer cette nouvelle activité alors que certains mettent des années à atteindre ce statut!
Une chose est sûre, pour être un expert dans une catégorie, une profession, un sport, une activité il faut: de la passion et surtout de l’entraînement, beaucoup d’entrainement!
Il faut FAIRE une activité pour devenir meilleur, il faut la faire très souvent et très longtemps afin de se perfectionner et de maitriser son sujet, c’est la raison pour laquelle la passion, ou l’amour de la chose est indispensable car on a tendance à vouloir faire ce que l’on aime beaucoup plus souvent que ce que l’on n’aime pas.
Évidemment, nous ne sommes pas tous égaux.
Certains sont plus doués que d’autres, ont plus de facilité pour apprendre ou pour maitriser certaines choses et seront donc plus rapides et atteindront peut-être même le rang de maître dans leur discipline.
On ne peut pas être le meilleur de tous dans toutes les activités, les catégories ou les choses que l’on fait. Le top, c’est d’exceller dans une discipline, de vraiment être le meilleur ou un maitre dans cette chose là. Cela force le respect des autres.
Tout le monde n’a pas forcément l’objectif de devenir « the best » dans toutes les disciplines.
Souvent le but est juste d’être très bon et de s’améliorer, et ça c’est à la portée de chacun si il se donne les moyens d’y arriver.
Par exemple:
Vous voulez apprendre à jouer de la guitare pour passer des soirées sympas au coin du feu avec vos amis cet été.
Vous n’avez pas besoin de devenir Eric Clapton ou Mark Knopfler en un mois pour être satisfait de vos prouesses.
Ce ne serait pas un objectif SMART, vous seriez rapidement frustré et vous finiriez par abandonner.
Vous pouvez par contre décider d’apprendre à jouer un nouvel accord par jour pendant un mois (cela fait 30 ou 31 accords), cela vous permettra de jouer au moins une bonne trentaine de chansons différentes et de passer de super soirée avec vos amis.
Après le premier mois, vous serez capable de jouer vos morceaux au coin du feu, cela plait aux autres, qui vous le disent et cela crée un retour positif immédiat.
Votre motivation d’apprendre est donc encore plus grande, ce qui vous donne envie de vous entraîner encore plus, vous deviendrez alors encore meilleur et ainsi de suite: ceci est un cercle vertueux!
C’est comme cela que l’on devient meilleur!
