Voici les 5 astuces pour être capable de réagir avec classe aux critiques, même méchantes et gratuites, et pour utiliser les critiques constructives pour vous perfectionner et pour améliorer tout ce qui peut l’être.
1. Soyez sûr d’avoir bien compris la critique
Il faut déjà bien écouter son interlocuteur, c’est le b-a ba.
Ensuite le mieux est de répéter la critique afin d’être sûr de l’avoir bien comprise, on peut également demander plus d’explications afin de pouvoir réagir en conséquences. Cela permet de gagner du temps de réflexion et de ne pas réagir « hors sujet » comme cela arrive trop souvent lorsqu’on se sent attaqué.
2. Respirez et calmez vous (la règle de 3)
Recevoir une critique est rarement agréable. Pour vous calmer, utilisez la règle de 3.
- Inspirez en comptant mentalement jusqu’à 3 (pendant 3 secondes)
- Retenez votre respiration (3 secondes)
- Expirez pendant 3 secondes
- Retenez votre respiration (3 secondes)
- Répétez ce petit exercice 3 fois
Ceci vous évitera de réagir à chaud, ce qui est en général plutôt mauvais car la réaction est souvent très chargée en émotions négatives : de défense, d’attaque, de frustration, de colère…
Ces réactions directes à chaud sont souvent très blessantes pour les deux interlocuteurs, non-constructives et regrettées plus tard.
3. Prenez un temps de reflexion
Si c’est possible, prenez le temps de réfléchir à la critique en sortant de la pièce, en vous éloignant un moment. Vous pouvez dire à votre interlocuteur que vous avez besoin d’un petit moment pour penser à ce qu’il vous a dit afin de mieux répondre à sa critique.
Lorsque vous ne pouvez pas vous éloigner, essayez d’utiliser le temps de respiration (le truc numéro 2) pour réfléchir à une réaction saine et constructive.
4. Analysez la critique
Si vous avez réussi à vous éloigner pour réfléchir un peu, vous pouvez analyser la critique afin de réagir correctement.
Il y a plusieurs types de critiques :
Les critiques constructives
- la critique qui vise à aider la personne à devenir meilleure
- la critique qui vise à changer quelque chose de précis dans une situation
- la critique qui vise à faire avancer une conversation
Les critiques destructives
- la critique qui vise à faire du mal à la personne
- la critique qui vise à permettre à votre interlocuteur de se défouler et décharger sa frustration sur quelqu’un d’autre
- la critique qui vise à remonter son égo en rabaissant l’autre
5. Réagissez de manière adéquate
Si la critique fait partie de la catégorie constructive
Questions à se poser:
quelle est le but de la critique?
quelle est l’opinion de la personne?
quelle est mon opinion?
l’opinion de la personne est-elle juste ou plus juste que la mienne?
Est-ce que je peux, ou veux changer quelque chose?
Est-ce mieux pour moi ou pour les autres si je change quelque chose?
Lorsque vous avez répondu à ces questions :
- vous pouvez effectivement changer quelque chose, ainsi la critique vous aura fait évoluer ou aura amélioré la situation.
- Vous pouvez aussi décider de ne pas changer, ce qui ne vous empêche pas de remercier la personne de vous avoir critiqué et de vous avoir permis de réfléchir à nouveau à certaines choses et de vous conforter dans votre choix de rester comme vous êtes ou de continuer à faire ce que vous faites.
Si la critique fait partie de la catégorie destructive
- Ne le prenez pas pour vous, sachez que la personne qui émet ce genre de critique doit sûrement être malheureuse et est donc à plaindre.
- Gardez votre humour, cela vous permet de dédramatiser même les pires insultes.
Vous pouvez réagir de manière positive en « tournant » tout ce que vous pouvez pour que cela devienne positif.
Par exemple:
critique : votre article est absolument nul, tout est faux, vous n’y connaissez rien…
Réaction : Je suis navrée que mon article ne vous plaise pas. J’aimerais beaucoup savoir ce qui vous paraît erroné, peut-être puis-je faire des corrections si effectivement je me suis trompée quelque part.
Lorsque vous avez réagi à la critique déstructrive avec humour, patience et ouverture d’esprit 😉
Oubliez-la!
Vous avez répondu comme il le fallait en gardant la tête haute, sans vous énerver ni perdre vos moyens.
Vous pouvez être fier de vous, maintenant vous pouvez passer à autre chose.
Voilà, vous saurez maintenant bien réagir aux critiques, même méchantes et gratuites et utiliser celles qui sont constructives pour vous perfectionner et pour améliorer tout ce qui peut l’être.

c’est surtout pour éviter les articles dupliqués qui sont extrêmement préjudiciables pour les blogueurs.
J’aime également prendre des notes et je trouve que le fait d’écrire soi-même plutôt que de juste copier, permet de mieux utiliser les idées et même d’en créer de nouvelles 😉

le premier point est très pertinent!
en effet, souvent, celui/celle qui pose la critique est parfois très maladroit(e). On va dire qu’il ou elle a passé une mauvaise journée (soyons de bonne foi 😉 )
en plus, le fait de reformuler avec bienveillance peut calmer l’autre.
Supposons que mon partenaire fait une critique.
Il voit bien que j’essai de comprendre avec bienveillance.
Souvent, il s’excuse… et avoue être à fleurs de peau. Il reconnait donc explicitement ou pas qu’il est maladroit et que la critique n’est pas pertinente.

et bien, tu as un partenaire formidable! C’est rare qu’un homme reconnaisse ses torts et s’excuse.
C’est vrai qu’il faut parfois tourner sa langue 7 fois dans sa bouche et attendre d’avoir fait plusieurs respirations profondes pour se calmer avant de formuler sa critique.

Ah les critiques ! C’est toujours un grand moment de remise en question… Voire, de frustration. En tout cas, très utiles ces petits conseils pour prendre du recul.
Je suis contente que mes conseils soient utiles,
je les teste moi-même et je les mets en pratique le plus souvent possible
même si je ne suis bien sûr que très rarement confrontée aux critiques… 😉
